This is a comprehensive project with major capital upgrades to the District’s heating system. This includes boiler replacements, conversion of steam to hot water in some buildings, and classroom unit ventilator replacements.

Five Examples of the 8 Energy Conservation Measures:

  • LED Lighting Upgrades
  • Steam to Hot Water Conversion
  • Hot Water Boiler Upgrades
  • Oil-Gas Heating Conversion
  • Solar Photovoltaics (PV)

PROJECT HIGHLIGHTS

District was able to maximize the funding of infrastructure upgrades while also minimizing impact to the taxpayers.

The District’s main goal for the Energy Performance Contract was to eliminate the old steam systems throughout the facilities. The District planned a two-pronged approach: traditional capital project and Energy Performance Contract. By utilizing these two funding sources, the District was able to maximize the funding of infrastructure upgrades while also minimizing impact to the taxpayers.

ECG really worked with us to troubleshoot how we could maximize the savings ...

“I needed to address facility issues in our building and a condition survey that was long standing involving heating and cooling. I really wanted to leverage the ability of energy savings with our lighting. ECG really worked with us to troubleshoot how we could maximize the savings from the lighting, but still get core facilities work we needed done. I’m very happy with the way it turned out.
I think it’s a great model for other districts to emulate.”
