Kendra is responsible for all high-level management including setting and communicating the company’s strategic direction, balancing resources, ensuring the company’s values are applied from top to bottom, making decisions related to human resources, legal, and financial matters, and overseeing and delivering the company’s performance.
Prior to Kendra's role as CEO, she was the Director of Business Development for ECG.
Since joining ECG in 2001, Kendra has identified Energy Performance Contracting (EPC) potential in over 100 municipal agencies, resulting in 100 projects totaling close to $1 Billion. The implementation of these EPCs has saved, and continues to save each day, thousands of dollars in energy costs.
Most recently, Kendra has led ECG’s expansion into new services offerings in response to emerging technologies. These new services include technical owner’s representation for microgrids, fuel cells, and solar power purchase agreements.
Kendra is a highly skilled public speaker whose main role at ECG is to effectively communicate the benefits of complex energy projects in an easy-to-understand way. She has presented to countless municipal agencies and their governing boards, and has a proven track record of success garnering public support.
Kendra ensures that each project is managed to the full satisfaction of ECG’s clients. She is a strong supporter of many professional associations that support municipal officials, and she frequently presents to these organizations to share the latest information about innovative funding models and advances in energy efficiency.
Kendra holds an MBA from Dowling College and a BA in English and Marketing from Hofstra University.
David Newman has over 20 years of diverse experience in engineering project management and providing engineering services to industrial manufacturing, institutional, commercial and governmental clients.
David directs ECG’s business operations and manages the company's internal operations.
He is involved in every phase of project implementation from preliminary site investigations, technical reviews and customer guidance, and has direct responsibility for the development of stamped design specifications and drawings for construction.
David also oversees the construction administration services and other follow-up services for ECG’s many clients.
Prior to joining ECG, David managed a multidisciplinary team of engineers in a world-class manufacturing facility. His past expertise includes team coordination for the successful design, commissioning and optimization of complex mechanical, chemical and thermal processing systems.
David holds a B.E. in Mechanical Engineering from the State University of New York at Stony Brook. He is a licensed Professional Engineer in the states of New York, Connecticut, New Jersey, Pennsylvania, South Carolina, and Florida.
David is a Certified Asbestos Project Designer, as well as a Certified Energy Manager (CEM), Green Building Engineer (GBE), LEED Accredited Professional and a Certified Energy Auditor (CEA). David specializes in Mechanical, Electrical, and Plumbing Engineering and has expertise in asbestos and LEED.
O. Von Banks has over 16 years of experience in construction and development on the local, state, and federal levels. Von's primary focus is on county, local and state government facilities and institutions.
Von is recognized as an expert consultant on projects involving the US Dept. of Housing and Urban Development (HUD).
Prior to joining ECG, Von was appointed by the White House to serve as Deputy Assistant Secretary of the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development. Von is a graduate of Pennsylvania State University.
Aldo Mazzaferro is primarily responsible for managing all technical aspects of ECG's projects. He ensures the successful completion of each project through technical oversight to each client’s satisfaction. Aldo plays a vital role in analyzing project proposals and in representing ECG at pre-proposal meetings and construction project meetings.
Aldo holds a BS in Mechanical Engineering and a Masters of Engineering in Energy Systems from Lehigh University. During his time at Lehigh University, he developed skills in project management, energy efficiency, and project finance that have been critical to his effectiveness as a Project Engineer with ECG.
Aldo is a Certified Energy Manager (CEM) and a Certified Energy Auditor (CEA).
Ashley Heintz-Lynch is the Director of Business Development at The ECG Group and is responsible for the expansion of ECG’s customer base and business growth. Ashley develops, coordinates and implements plans and initiatives to capture company opportunities. She leads ECG with marketing, social media and event planning.
Ashley strives to build and foster positive, long-term relationships with past and present clients to ensure customer satisfaction and an excellent ECG experience. To do so, she works closely with all departments, especially the design and project management teams, to ensure alignment of ECG’s goals and quality. Ashley also develops and promotes healthy relationships with strategic partnerships, associations, and other organizations within the field.
In the past 11 years, Ashley has been ECG’s Director of Project Development and Project Coordinator, helping ECG to ensure the quality of work products and overseeing the development and coordination of projects to successfully move projects from inception to construction. As the primary customer contact for the beginning stages of all ECG projects, Ashley interacted closely with customers to clearly understand their needs and expectations, project plan accordingly, create proposals specific to the customer and sustaining clear communication with clients and energy services companies.

Justin Benoit is responsible for aiding with technical aspects of projects from conception to completion including mechanical, electrical and plumbing design. As a Project Engineer, he is involved in all facets from new project development to support in the design and construction phases.
Justin communicates with clients and frequently attends meetings to foster stronger relationships and ensure client satisfaction and confidence.
Justin holds a BS in Mechanical Engineering from Binghamton University. While studying at Binghamton, he gained valuable experience in mechanical design, HVAC principles, and sustainability that have contributed to his success at ECG.
Michael Sahm has a Ph.D in Mechanical Engineering from Stanford University. His experience ranges from Project Engineer to Program Management and Strategic Energy Analytics.
He is a dynamic mechanical engineer experienced in delivering practical integrated energy systems solutions for applications ranging from building scale to eco-city concept design and development. Michael Sahm is experienced in advanced technology application, strategy development, solar and fuel cell systems,integrated building systems, measurement verification, critical quantitative data, and specializes in energy efficiency. He is ECG's Microgrid and Fuel Cell specialist and is the lead on all projects in that specialty. Michael Sahm also handles field supervision for EPC projects providing ECG customers with project management, building/system inspections and construction reports.
Bill Bassett brings extensive knowledge in public education through his 35 successful years of experience.
Bill’s experience includes serving 25 years as a Superintendent of Schools culminating with his last position as the District Superintendent and CEO of Orange/Ulster BOCES for over 8 years. He has served on many statewide projects and has participated in statewide educational organizations. Bill has an understanding of energy efficiency and conservation through his experience in working on energy projects and renovations as a school Superintendent. Two successful projects he directed totaled close to $20 million in energy and renovation.
Steve has over 20 years of elected experience in the Town of Monroe Connecticut. He served on the Town Council, the Board of Finance and from 2009 to 2017 (4 terms) as Monroe First Selectman.
He is currently the Vice Chairman of United Way of Coastal Fairfield County and the Communication Director for the Rotary Club of Monroe. Steve understands, and communicates, the daily challenges of town and city budgets, facilities, and the operational needs of building maintenance He successfully balanced budgets, maintaining efficient buildings, and preserving sound financial balance sheets while being sensitive to the taxpayer burden. He has implemented various energy conservation measures in Monroe and is committed to working with Towns and Cities to ensure these best practices in all buildings within. As a former First Selectman, Steve was the individual who introduced ECG to Monroe resulting in a $1.5 Million savings for his taxpayers. He looks forward to working with your city or town to bring the same or better savings to your communities.
Matthew Kazubowski has 20 years of diverse experience in architectural design in commercial, institutional and school construction management, including 15 years with NYS Education Department.
His areas of expertise include: comprehensive architectural building evaluations, architectural inspections, architectural project reviews, construction documents, architectural design of various school projects, and work coordination with project managers in the field. He has excellent graphic presentation skills and computer based training (AutoCAD - 3D software).
Matthew has worked with ECG on multiple educational and municipal Energy Performance Projects throughout Tri-State area and Pennsylvania. His experience extends to architectural aspects of EPC projects as well as comprehensive evaluation of EPC proposals.
Elisa Cotelo specialized in Universal Design at University of Michigan. Her primary roles at ECG include architectural drafting, state code research, construction documents, meeting minutes, field project inspections, and assisting with the overall project management.
Elisa uses site visits and pre-design meetings to ensure efficiency and accuracy on all architectural design plans. She is highly experienced in computer based drawing (i.e., AutoCAD). Additionally, she has studied Urban Planning in France, Denmark, Iceland and Sweden with a focus in geothermal energy.
Harold Friedman has 26 years of experience in the design, construction inspection and management services for mechanical, electrical and plumbing engineering systems.
He has solid knowledge and experience in the construction materials and methods for proper installation and operations of mechanical, electrical and plumbing engineering systems as well as the implementation of computer aided drafting concepts and techniques in the development of all engineering disciplines. Harold has further expertise in heating, ventilating and air conditioning, plumbing, electrical, fire protection systems, filtration, recirculation, medical, geothermal, boiler plants, cogeneration, solar and domestic hot water, and building management control systems.
His knowledge and skills also extend to Healthcare, Educational, Correctional, Municipal, Governmental, Commercial, Aquatic and Athletic Facilities. In addition to his design and engineering responsibilities he provides ECG’s clients with various professional services within a construction management capacity.
Kim provides support to the executive and program management team and handling the day-to-day administrative operations of ECG.
She handles all of ECG’s administrative tasks including scheduling appointments, meeting minutes, directing phone calls, and maintaining filing systems. Kim assists in preparation of marketing materials, regulatory agency documents and proposal packages.
Lou Mira is a Code Enforcement Official with experience including successful completion of comprehensive inspections and submission of NYSED forms for the following: Building Condition Surveys, Annual Visual Inspections, and Annual Fire Inspections.
In addition, he is a career Fire Lieutenant and the lead Code Enforcement Official with the Fire Department in the Village of Garden City, New York. Lou evaluates all projects to ensure they are aligned with current safety and code ordinances.
Greg Anderson has 30+ years experience as an Engineering and Budget Manager. He also has 15+ years experience as a Code Enforcement Official in which he successfully completes RESCUE comprehensive inspections, NYSED Annual Fire Inspections and Annual Visual Inspections.
Greg handles field supervision for EPC projects with expertise in building evaluation and construction inspections. He provides ECG’s customers with project management, building inspections and construction reports. In addition, Greg was a Fire Chief and Fire Marshal with specialties in Hazmat Awareness and Operations, Building Construction and Emergency Preparedness.
